The Blueprint Rooms

A short history lesson

The Blueprint Rooms opened in September 2015 and is located in the quaint picturesque village of Long Buckby in Northamptonshire. After a relocation, the growing need for new premises to re-home Beyond the Mask grew and fortunately we found ourselves been presented the opportunity to take an old building with heaps of character and history into its next chapter.

The origins of the building date back to the 1850s when the boot and shoe trade, which was strong in Northampton and growing in Daventry, came to the village. A number of entrepreneurs tried their luck here and for 150 years Long Buckby was to be an important footwear manufacturing village.

Long Buckby has long been known for high class hand sewn footwear, particularly long boots for horse riders. The skill of these craftspeople also meant that Long Buckby was the place to have bespoke and surgical footwear made. Its shoemakers have several times made the news as the only people able to make size 18 army boots or a pair of first shoes for larger children

The Blueprint Rooms looked very different in1965

It took us a while to get things sorted, for example, putting in a new floor, making safe the old chimney stack, a new heating system after a very cold winter and of course the decorating. We now have an environment that we believe to be very conducive to our best work yet.

Nigel works with a lot of people at the Blueprint Rooms who are embarking on the One To One programme (OTO) or the Family Programme (F). A lot of people also embark on the OTO programme utilising IT as their preferred method of experiencing BTM which are also delivered from here at the Blueprint Rooms.

The Art Studio, which is based within the Blueprint Rooms is designed to work with people who are exploring the benefits of self-expression through Creative Arts. Sharon spends a lot of her time creating pieces of art with and for individuals.

So why did we call it the Blueprint Rooms

Beyond the Mask as a process takes the concept that what we think and what we feel, dictate the way we act. We all have times in our lives when things don’t go to plan, or the road you are travelling turns out to be just a dirt track, and we find our thoughts wondering off to that all to familiar thought pattern when we just don’t know what to do next.

BTM recognises the importance of having a personal Blueprint for these such times.

When the proverbial stuff hits the fan and we don’t have a personal Blueprint to refer to, it is very hard to make the best-informed decision and invariably we often find ourselves jumping out of the fire and straight into the frying pan.

Having a personal Blueprint allows you to feel secure in the knowledge that you have something to go back to ensure the decisions you are making are conducive to who you are and what you really want to do. Having a personal Blueprint also ensures that even when things are going incredibly good, you are still focusing on what really matters to you, now and the future.

The Blueprint Rooms enables us to spend time with people who are looking to reconnect, review and in some cases, re-do their own personal Blueprint…..

Hence the:
